Abstract:

This paper is devoted to an application of evolutionary algorithms into optimal shape design of a preform. The presented method allows finding an initial shape of the preform that leads to a final production with the desired geometry. The two stage forging problem are also considered. The optimal shape of the anvils in the first stage is searched. The objective function depends on the plastic strains in the material in the second stage of forging.
