Abstract:

Manufacturing of products without defects is potentially possible in two ways: severe selection of faulted final products or improvement of the manufacturing technology. The paper deals with the problem of detection of defects of metallic casts. The main objective of the work is elaboration of the methodology, based on the artificial neural network approach, of classification of the industrial data and prediction of parameters initiating defects in casts. The presented method can be treated as an advisory system for foundry engineers.
