Abstract:
In this paper the optimization of drawbead position based on sensitivity analysis is considered. The finite element simulation of sheet metal forming process and ?exact?, direct differentiation method (DDM) of sensitivity analysis are used. The real drawbead geometry and its characteristics are replaced by the equivalent drawbead. The methodology of introducing the equivalent drawbead is presented. The difference between velocities calculated at two selected nodes of the workpiece is chosen as the objective function for the optimization algorithm. Gradients of this function with respect to the drawbead position parameter are evaluated by DDM. Calculated sensitivities are used as input for the optimization algorithm from which the new values of the design variable are obtained. The objective function is minimized yielding the optimal configuration of the drawbead. The theory is illustrated by numerical example.
